Just minutes before Craig Strickland and his friend, Chase, a 22-year-old from Arkansas, set out on their boat, Chase sent out a haunting tweet no one believed would come true.

A search for Craig and Chase Morland began on December 28, after their families hadn’t heard from the two men in over 24 hours, E! News reports.

Later that night, the country singer’s wife, Helen, posted an update on Twitter saying his dog, Sam, was found alive, but that their boat was found capsized in Kaw Lake.

In early morning hour of December 29, it was reported that Chase’s body had been found in Kaw Lake. He was deceased. Craig, however, is still missing.

According to a spokesperson from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, neither Craig nor Chase were using floatation devices.
